DC Comics Presents #94

Here's a comic book starring Superman and three superheroes nobody ever heard of & who don't make any sense fighting a guy who never showed up in any comic ever again.  It's a real winner.  See, back when this issue came out DC Comics had just gotten finished destroying their entire superhero universe and starting over from scratch.  None of the stories that happened before counted, except some of them did, but they wouldn't tell us which ones.  Three of the main clowns involved in the big destroying/re-starting the universe story were Harbinger, Lady Quark, and Pariah; I'm not sure what the broads' powers are and this comic doesn't tell us, but apparently Pariah's power is appearing wherever something really bad is about to happen but then not being able to do anything about it, like being in FEMA counts as a superpower or something.  Their new gig is doing the talk-show circuit ("With great power comes great responsibility."), but they end up helping Superman when this "Volt Lord" joker gets so tough by stealing his neighbors' electricity that he thinks he can take over the world.  He convinces Lady Quark to help him by flirting with her, which seems pretty pathetic on her part until you realize that she looks like an 80-year-old bull dyke and this might really be her only chance:

In the end though Lady Quark changes sides again and helps defeat him, and because she's so obviously trustworthy and not in the least bit dangerously impulsive or emotionally unstable, all is forgiven:

Yes, welcome to Earth!  Please don't consider destroying it in exchange for sex!  Again.

Incidentally, the editorial page of this comic tells us that this story doesn't count.
