(1964)
The first astronauts land on the moon to do their "one small step for man" bit, but the joke's on them because they find a limey flag there and a note that says the moon belongs to England! After some investigating it turns out these three jokers already went to the moon back in 1899 and thoroughly pissed off the moon people (who look like a cross between Greedo, a Sleestak, and an Ovion), so there's a good chance the astronauts are in deep shit. Most of the movie is the last survivor from 1899 telling what happened, and it's one of those old-fashioned stories where people fly through outer space in half-assed contraptions, use diving suits for spacesuits, and don't even bother to wear any gloves when they're walking around on the moon. That's okay though because the laws of science were different in the 1800s. That's why they were able to invent so much cool stuff back then like cars and radio and the telephone, and nowadays all we can come up with is the fucking cereal dispenser:
Anyway, this movie rocks: the moon people that are special effects look sweet as hell (the ones that are just costumes, not so much), there's an awesome giant caterpillar attack, and when the 1960s astronauts finally find the moon civilization it turns out it was completely wiped out by the one guy the first group left behind! That's right, who rules the solar system? I think it's the Earth! USA! USA! USA!
