Moon of the Wolf

(1972)

Rednecks and truckers and white trash were super popular in the 1970s, so since this movie was made then they had it happen in this backwoods hick town in a swamp in the middle of fucking noplace. It starts when they find this dead chick. The sheriff tries to solve the crime by talking to all the weird yokels in town and everybody has all these secrets about her, so basically it's like Twin Peaks meets Hee-Haw. In one part, it turns out the chick was pregnant when she died, and when the sheriff asks the doctor who did the autopsy if he knew, the doctor says "I knew she was pregnant. I was third in my class!" What a moron. Anyway, all this investigating is a waste of time, because she was really killed by a werewolf. Finally, like half way through, the werewolf actually turns up and kills two more guys. The next night we find out who the werewolf is, but he kicks a bunch of peoples' asses and escapes. The werewolf waits another day and then changes and goes after this chick the sheriff wants to fuck (this is the fourth full moon in a row, by the way, but whatever). This finally gets the sheriff off his ass and motivated, but the chick ends up taking care of business herself by setting a barn the werewolf is in on fire, then blowing it away when it escapes and comes after her again. The werewolf is totally lame and looks worse than Teen Wolf, but at least the story wasn't as fucking retarded as that movie was.
