Sky Riders

(1976)

A bunch of goalies kidnap this guy's family, but it turns out the wife is James Coburn's ex so he decides to help rescue them. The goalies are hiding out on top of this mountain, so James Coburn gets these people who run a hang gliding circus and they all hang glide in and grab everybody. Meanwhile, the cops show up and raid the place, so this huge gun battle breaks out.* Instead of just gliding down the other side of the mountain with the hostages, the hang gliders decide to fly back over the goalies' base, so naturally the goalies start blowing them out of the sky. It's fucking hilarious. The main bad guy gets in a helicopter to chase the survivors, but James Coburn grabs onto the chopper as it passes by and just starts pumping bullets into it until it has to land; then, mission accomplished, he jumps off while it's still like fifty feet in the air. That James Coburn is one tough motherfucker.

*For some reason they bring the husband along on the raid, and they even give him a gun and let him help! What the fuck?
