Thinner

(1996)

A fat guy accidentally runs over this Jew, but according to Freud there are no accidents so their Jew pope puts a curse on him that will make him get thinner and thinner until he wastes away. I know a lot of people who could just ride it out (these days my girlfriend from college would die of old age before she even got down to "pleasantly plump"), but this cat hasn't got that kind of time so he does what most of us would do: he goes to the mob. Up to this point this movie was mostly boring (except when it was stupid), but just like real life once the mob gets involved it's pretty entertaining: the mob guy blasts the shit out of the Jews' camp, poisons their dogs, tricks them into shooting one of their own guys, beats up one of their hot little Jewish princesses... All of this shit is great- too bad the rest of the movie blows. For one thing, it's kind of hard to root for a fat guy because fat people suck; they're lazy, they're sweaty, and they're fucking selfish. Yes, selfish. You don't get fat by sharing. And what kind of a horror flick ends with an evil pie? I guess they figured that a lot of fat people would come to see this movie and if they didn't work pie in there somehow they would like alienate their target audience, but that's still fucking retarded.

I would say read the book instead, but I tried that and frankly it's almost as bad.
