Amazing Stories
"Guilt Trip"

(1985)

So, it seems that Guilt is an actual imaginary being, like Santa Claus or Death, and his job, obviously, is to make people feel guilty. He needs a vacation though, so, as you can see, the title of this episode is a pun. Could someone please explain to me why Guilt isn't visiting the pricks who came up with that one? Especially since it's painfully obvious that once they thought up the pun they pretty much called it a day. Remember what I said about this series being lazy? Anyway, Guilt decides to take a cruise, where he passes the time by irritating people (mainly me) until he meets this broad and falls head over heels for her, even though she's completely overrated. So what's the gag? The broad is Love. No, really, that's it. I know, I know... it isn't clever, it isn't funny, it doesn't mean anything, and, frankly, it doesn't even make any sense. Hey, what did you expect? This is Amazing Stories, not The Twilight Zone. We're damn lucky to get off with "infuriatingly pointless".
