Blood Red Planet

(2000)

A "rogue planetoid" appears out of nowhere and makes us lose contact with our moon base, so they send two guys wearing high school science goggles and those masks you use when you're painting a room with no windows to investigate. When they get there everyone's dead, so they blow the whole moon base up! Your tax dollars at work. They're supposed to check out the rogue planetoid next, but before they get that far a couple of cartoon UFOs show up and blow 'em out of the sky. Of course they send another ship full of idiots up there, and this one actually manages to land on the rogue planetoid where they all get possessed by aliens, killed by space zombies, or eaten by puppets, until the last dude standing manages to save the day by blowing up the entire planetoid with a couple of smoke detectors. There's also a tapeworm on a string, a computer named "KAL" (seriously?), people wearing water bottles on their backs, and cartoon effects that got me majorly nostalgic for Astro Warrrior:

"Surely revive, Zamboni!"

Really though, this is fucking pathetic. I've made movies using nothing but things I had laying around the house too, but in my case one of those things was this feisty little redhead so obviously mine were a lot more entertaining. I still didn't release them on video. Well, okay, I did make one copy to send to her husband after she pissed me off, but that was it.
