Destination: Infestation

(2007)

The credits at the beginning of this flick don't inspire much confidence. Besides the dumb, rhyming name, that's where we learn that it stars professional smarm Antonio Sabato Jr. On the other hand, I see the casting was by some broad named "Laura Brooke Topless". Now there's a chick I want to meet.

So, this is essentially an airplane disaster flick: we meet a bunch of people, they all get on an airplane, circumstances occur, and then some but not all of them die. In the old days these types of movies were loaded with has-been celebrities and it wasn't always easy to guess who would or wouldn't croak, but this one doesn't have any (real) celebrities so it's definitely more of a crapshoot. That said, I'm definitely rooting against the fat chick, the screaming baby, and Antonio. As for the disaster, it starts when this guy pukes up a bunch of killer ants. Why he ate the ants in the first place is a mystery, but irregardless they're pissed and start attacking everybody. No airplane movie can have just one crisis though, so they're also running out of gas, no one will let them land, and the plane might blow up. Highlights include thousands of cartoon ants, Antonio making his big move on the main chick at a ridiculously inappropriate time, and a hysterically moronic bit where they finally find the queen ant but don't know what to do because they're out of poison. Jesus, just hit it with a rolled-up newspaper or something.

Incidentally, Antonio, the baby, and the fat chick all survive. Instead, the movie makes what it seems to think is some big moral call by giving the worst of it to the guy who was scared, and the guy who was drunk. Christ, if being scared and drunk means you deserve to come to a bad end, this whole country is fucked.
