How you can make The Land that Time Forgot into a movie and leave out all the fighting over the submarine is beyond me. In the book, half the fucking story was people fighting over the submarine; the goddamn thing changes hands so many times before the dinosaurs even show up that it's like a running joke. That said though the beginning of this version is pretty fucking good; they play it really close to the dick and for a while it's all kind of mysterious and creepy. It doesn't take them long to ass it up though. First off, it turns out that the jokers in this movie didn't find a lost land of dinosaurs at all, they actually traveled back in time. So it's not really "the land that time forgot" then, is it? Duh. Even ignoring that, it's pretty hard to take a movie seriously when people say dumb shit like "I'll lead you right to it. Can't promise it's still there though." What? Or where a t-rex just spontaneously explodes for no reason (I know they shot a torpedo at it, but apparently the drunk in charge of the cartoon effects forgot to actually put the torpedo in there). And they shortchange us on the dinosaurs too- we really only see three, and two of them are the same kind. What a half-baked turd. The only plus is the brunette chick: she's borderline stunning, and her legs are by far the best special effect in the whole movie. Too bad she never gets naked.
