The Lost Missile

(1958)

This missile appears out of nowhere and starts flying around the Earth, frying everything in its path. "There may be no tomorrow. There may be no this afternoon," says the narrator guy. Holy crap, there may be no 4:20! This is serious. The missile is headed straight for New York City (it's gonna hit Ottawa first, but nobody cares about that), so this scientist races against time to build another missile so they can shoot it down. Meanwhile, the public panics. My favorite part is when this TV station interrupts their regular programming - a guy singing about incest - for a special bulletin:

Singer: "When my cousin says 'Go go go,' she really means 'No no...'"
[Dude barges in, hands him a piece of paper.]
Singer: "I've just been informed..."

Then there's the hilariously retarded Canadian family who buy it while they're making a snowman, and the part where teenage hoods steal the plutonium the scientist needs to save the day! Unfortunately, most of this flick is just people talking and old footage of airplanes, so frankly it's pretty boring the rest of the time. I liked the scientist's fiancé though. I've got a missile she can help me lose.
