"Based on a true story"? Christ, those movies are always the most ridiculous of all.

I will never understand some guys. The dude in this movie has a perfectly used-up, hag wife at home, and yet he maintains another used-up hag on the side that he's having an affair with. It's like he's not even trying. One day the wife vanishes, and when she doesn't eventually turn up at the bingo parlor or the early bird special buffet everyone fears the worst. They all suspect the husband, and the cops do give him a Magic 8 Ball polygraph test, but anything more than that would require a lot of paperwork and cops hate paperwork so their hands are tied. When it turns out the dude has two missing wives though, they finally amble into action and start questioning his relatives. (The best is when this one cat won't talk to them at all and just holds a sign up to the window that says "F U". Oh, wait, it says "FLU". Never mind.) Nothing concrete turns up, but eventually the (second) wife's family has to accept the fact that she's dead. Of course she's dead. She was fucking old. Oh, wait, apparently he murdered her. Ultimately the cops and the FBI both get on the dude's sack, and through the miracle of modern police work they manage to solve the case a decade later. That's right, a decade. And you wonder why they never found your purse.
