The Order

(2003)

BLT, triple bacon, hold the lettuce, tomato, mayo, and bread, and I'd like that served by a 19-year-old redhead of low moral character. Ha ha ha! Okay, now that the most obvious joke is out of the way, let's get on with it. This flick has such a "we're getting the band back together" vibe that you feel like you're watching an episode of a TV series that's been on for years but you've never seen before. (Oh well, at least they balance this out by having it end like the first episode of a TV series that'll get cancelled next week.) It seems there's this guy who eats sins, providing a nice loophole for people who are evil and Catholic (example: the Pope). He wants to retire though, so he tries to convince this other dude to take over the job by talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and killing his girlfriend. Did I mention that there's a lot of talking in this movie? In the end the sin eater finally manages to bamboozle the other dude into taking his place, and it all ends with said dude making a big speech about his new gig that just doesn't feel right when it doesn't segue into "Next week, on the new hit series The Order..."

In summary, this movie is boring and stupid. Now where's that slutty redhead with my bucket of bacon?
